I’m Kylie Higby, Master Stylist and Co-Owner of Higby Hair Co. I’ve been behind the chair for over five years and specialize in precision haircutting, fine hair cutting, styling services, and laser hair removal. I am certified in fine hair cutting and take pride in creating personalized services for every client through detailed consultations and thoughtful attention to detail.

My passion for hair began early through my background in dance. I was a competitive dancer growing up, and I spent many years doing hair and makeup for performances and competitions, often with my mom right by my side. Those experiences sparked my creativity and interest in the beauty industry and helped shape the path that eventually led me to cosmetology.

After realizing that a traditional four-year college path wasn’t the right fit for me, I decided to pursue cosmetology and began my professional journey at the Atelier Academy of Beauty in 2019. Since then, I’ve continued to grow my skills and deepen my passion for working with clients and helping them feel confident in their hair.

Working alongside my mom has always been a very special part of my career. Growing up around the salon environment and watching my parents build relationships with their clients gave me a deep appreciation for the connection and trust that comes with this industry. Opening Higby Hair Co. together has allowed us to create a space where we can truly focus on each client and provide a welcoming, personalized experience.

When you sit in my chair, my goal is for you to feel relaxed, comfortable, and confident that you’re in good hands. I take the time to listen carefully during consultations so we are completely on the same page before beginning any service. My haircutting approach is very customized — I carefully evaluate each client’s head shape, face shape, hair patterns, and details like cowlicks to ensure every haircut is designed specifically for them. I also believe education is an important part of the experience and love helping clients understand their hair so they can recreate their style confidently at home.

Outside of the salon, I live a very active and creative life. I teach dance at Dancin’ on Broadway, where I enjoy sharing my love for movement and creativity with my students. I also spend time working at a local golf course and love getting out on the course myself whenever I can. Golfing, crafting, staying active, and spending time outdoors are some of my favorite ways to recharge outside of work.

Family and friends are incredibly important to me, and I love spending time with them, especially when we’re out by the water during the summer months. I also have a three-year-old black lab named Beau who keeps life fun and busy outside the salon.

When I’m not behind the chair, teaching dance, or golfing, you can almost always find me with a coffee or matcha in hand.
